About Minerva Duo
Minerva Duo was born in 2014, in Pescara, from a pair of young musicians: Clara Deheza on violin and Matteo Mosca on classical guitar. They play excerpts from South-American music (especially bossa and tango) and the most famous soundtracks of italian composer E. Morricone. Influences for the duo are C. Machado, A. Piazzolla, Gardel C. and E. Morricone. Clara Deheza began his violin studies at the age of 3 years, at first with her father, prof. Hernando Deheza, and then at "Sarasate" Conservatory in Pamplona (Spain) in which obtained Medium Degree. She concludes his studies with Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Master of Arts (MA) Degrees at the "L. D'Annunzio" Conservatory in Pescara (Italy). Now she is studying with teacher Katalin Sebestyen in Brussels, and at the same time she's getting a Viola MA in Pescara Conservatory. Matteo Mosca began studying classical guitar at age 11, with prof. Fabio Di Michele. At the same time he studied modern guitar with prof. Paolo Giordano and Giuseppe Continenza, and with this one he gets the Bachelor's Degree in Popular Music at the Conservatory "L. D'Annunzio" in Pescara (Italy). He is currently studying for MA Degree in Composition, in the same Conservatory , with prof. Angelo Valori. The idea of a guitar-violin couple, albeit atypical, was dictated not only by personal reasons but also artistic: to make the public aware of a different aspect of the South-American music, far from the stereotypes of the genre and that could combine the classical tradition with the modern one. The Duo starts in May 2015 with a series of concerts in the Auditorium of the University G. D 'Annunzio of Chieti (Italy) and Museo Barbella in the same city.
