Janet and Lucy started Duo Maddalena in 2015 and have performed in the Brighton festival, Richmond, Ealing, Islington Prom, and elsewhere. We also play instruments, and invite professional musicians to accompany us in repertoire ranging from mediaeval (with harp, percussion, recorders, hurdy gurdy) through renaissance (with theorbo or lute, harpsichord, viols and recorders) to baroque (strings, harpsichord, flutes). We always try to showcase the work of women composers in these periods, and also present new works written for us.
