I started my piano player career at the age of 16 when I took a job in the local pub playing two nights a week. At the Woodstock arms I developed my performance skills and as I was playing for 8 hours a week I built the ability to play for extended periods of time and respond to the crowd. I built up a regular crowd and was soon being booked for private parties in the local area. After I moved to London I stopped playing to focus on my degree and expanded into composition and academia. I continued to play for family events and for clients back in Oxford but less frequently. I took up teaching as a more flexible way continue playing and now I have more time I am looking to start performing regularly again.

The sun is shining, guests are steadily appearing garbed in evening-wear and celebration is rife within the air. I felt like some live music upon arrival would be a welcoming way to set the scene for a 21st birthday. Dominic who was scheduled to play in a full musical outfit later, offered to play a selection of dinner-time jazz pieces upon my request. I was treated to marvellous musical exploits, spurring many appraisals from my guests leading me to thank him mid-performance. Only then was I told by him that he had played from two pages in his book, and had decided to riff around the chord sequences on the page, consequently he'd been seamlessly improvising for about 20 minutes. Having known Dominic for the entirety of my young-adult life, I have seen him grown from a confident and competent musician, into a performer with great quality

I have known Dominic for many years, since the time when I worked at St. Clare’s International College, Oxford as a music teacher and Dominic was one of my students. He always excelled at music and was an outstandingly gifted student. Since that time, he has moved on to study music at Goldsmith’s University, but I have used him on two occasions when I required a jazz pianist. The first of these was to provide music during the graduation lunch at St. Clare’s and the second was at my own wedding reception. On both occasions he played beautifully, he has a wide repertoire and perfectly gauged the mood of the guests and chose his music appropriately for the moment. He is a very reliable, hard-working and talented young man and recommend him to you without reservation.
