London-based Swedish singer-songwriter, Axel Jansson’s music offers a trademark sound of hook –heavy melodies paired with alternative rock and a big dose of bold pop.
Previous singles have attracted attention from The Metro, The Mirror, The Sun & Huffington Post and led to GigSlutz declaring him “a hugely exciting artist" – His 2nd single ‘Two Of A Kind’ – received Record Of The Week on Tim Cocker’s Virgin Radio show and tipped by Record Of The Day.
“It’s exactly the sort of well-crafted acoustic-driven pop that deserves to find a large and welcoming audience here in the UK and beyond.” – Record Of The Day
Having been drawn to music when he started to explore his father’s record collection as a child, absorbing and soaking up the sounds of the 60s and 70s, he went on to study at BIMM (London) where he met James Bell and was signed to All Out Music. Since then Axel has written and recorded an impressive catalogue of songs for his debut album, due for release in 2018.
‘The result has seen him evolving into an enviable pop-rock songwriter’ – Songwriting Magazine.
"Axel Jansson’s song writing is heartfelt and honest" - Indie Week
In addition to a run of headline shows Axel spent the summer of 2017 performing at festivals, including two sets at Glastonbury - a festival that had “been on my bucket list for a very long time, and it certainly lived up to expectation. I had the best time” - and a series of gigs on the Foodies Festival circuit. “It’s a confidence boost when you get invited to play at these amazing places, receive a warm welcome across the regions and leave each gig knowing that there are excited new fans out there ready to support you in areas you’ve never visited before. The Foodies Festival is a good example of this. It’s really inspiring when people take the time to come and chat after the gig, it makes you want to perform better, work harder and deliver better music and that’s what I’m going to do!”
Axel has previously performed at MIDEM, on the Coffee House Sessions tour, Busk The Box, I Luv Live and the LBC Summer Festival. He, and his band, will be playing a host of shows throughout 2018 including another full tour with the Foodies Festival.
