Dan Taylor

Dan is a trumpet player, arranger and composer based in Hertfordshire/London. He has a passion for many different genres of music, and is equally at home in the symphony orchestra, brass ensemble, function band, big band or theatre pit. Dan has recently graduated from his MA in Music at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, where he was awarded a Leverhulme Arts Scholarship, leaving with a Distinction mark. Currently, he is in the process of applying and auditioning for orchestral jobs both in the UK and abroad, as well as being a pioneering member of Home Brass, a brass quintet he co-founded and performs in. He continues to expand his knowledge of trumpet technique and musicianship, placing emphasis on ease, efficiency and comfort whilst playing, something that forms a large part of his teaching practice. Repertoire that he is currently working on includes: Tomasi - Trumpet Concerto Bitsch - 4 Variations on a Theme of Scarlatti Outside of music, Dan enjoys learning foreign languages - he's currently working on Portuguese and German. He is also an avid cook and is always looking to expand his culinary repertoire in whatever way possible.
