Hi, my name is Damien, I am an experienced, professional DJ and percussionist based in Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire. I have been DJ'ing for many years, including several gigs at the Ministry of Sound and the Gardening Club in my younger days when I lived in London. I have my own DJ controller, plus a full PA with mixer for additional instruments/mics and a selection of lights. I can and do play vinyl but prefer to travel light with digital files for most gigs. Additionally, the software I use gives me the opportunity to download and mix music directly from the cloud, this, along with the 4000 tracks I take with me, means I can cater for most tastes/requests with ease. In terms of music genres, I can play all kinds and have previously DJ'd at family parties and corporate events that have required a wide range from the 60's to the present day. My specialty however is Soul, Funk and Disco, with excursions into Jazz, Jazz Funk, classic Hip Hop and Northern Soul. As a percussionist, I play with two bands and am often called upon for ad hoc appearances locally. I play Congas, Bongos, marching side drum (with sticks) and a Cajon. Not all at the same time... I also use chimes, maracas, shakers and other percussive sound makers to create a full sound when required. I gig regularly, including a weekly residency at a music bar in West Yorkshire where I play a wide range of genres for a relaxed Sunday crowd.
