Premium Experienced Professional Folk Musicians

DAGDA is a folk supergroup comprised of the following experienced performers: - Adam Beresford-Browne (Guitar, Vocals, Mandolin) from midswégan, Galopede!, Roseville Fair, Ship Band. - Ross Grant (Fiddle, Vocals) from Inlay, Bluesocks, Ship Band, Will Pound's 'Through the Seasons'. - Ewan Cameron (Whistles, Flute, Vocals) from Floot Street, Roseville Fair, Ship Band. Upon request, when some extra WHOOSH! is required, we can assemble a 5-piece band that includes the core group plus either accordion and drum kit or bass guitar and drum kit. The larger PA and additional musicians are considered when providing a quotation. We have performed across the UK and beyond, from house concerts at the RSC in Stratford-Upon-Avon to beautiful weddings and corporate events. Upon request we can invite special guests to join us for the night, including Lewis Wood (Granny’s Attic), Will Pound, Kath Ord (Unthanks), Georgia Lewis, Dan Walsh, and more. DAGDA’s lively dancy folk music is ideal for ceilidhs, and we have a wide group of experienced ceilidh callers that we can invite to gig with us including Tom Tilley, Jen Morgan, Tess Livingstone, Cate Haynes, Bob Morgan, Georgia Lewis, Nicky Grant, Hannah Bright and more. We are always happy to discuss your specific requirements, to ensure that you have peace of mind for your special event. Please get in touch if you would like to know more.

Customer questions

Can you perform covers?

Yes. We are happy to accommodate the needs of our clients, and always enjoy a (musical) challenge!

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes. Our core line-up is Acoustic Guitar, Low Whistle and Folk Fiddle. With the same musicians we can also offer Bodhran, Mandolin, and Vocals. As mentioned in our bio we can draw upon a wide range of folk musicians from the UK and beyond. If you can imagine it, we can make it happen!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We understand that timings can change and can be flexible within reason, e.g. an hour or two here and there is usually fine.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We have worked with Silverlight DJ services (Adam Denton) at events and always had excellent feedback. Let us know your requirements and we’ll do what we can to accommodate you.

How much time do you need to set up?

The quickest setup took us around 10 minutes, although we prefer a more professional and calm setup! We usually use a high-tech Bose PA which is very portable and quick to set up.

Do you provide a caller?

As mentioned in our bio, we have a long list of excellent, professional callers that we have worked with before.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Specific requests are always welcome and we will work with you to ensure that you are happy with the services booked.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA) included in your quote?

Provision of our modern, portable PA is included in our quotation. Specific lighting requests would need to be discussed, but should not be an issue. We generally require a minimum stage space of 4 x 3 m.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If sufficient time is allowed, and we are booked, then we would be happy to include one or two special songs for your event. We ask for an additional £50 per special request in order to cover costs of additional rehearsals required.

What do your clients love most about your performances?

Lively, enthusiastic musicians who smile and are clearly enjoying themselves! We tend to bounce about a bit, which can be infectious :O)

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

Numerous private wedding events at a range of venues from converted barns to marquees. The Swan (Royal Shakespeare Company), Stratford. Numerous folk festivals.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

In the vein of the question, probably playing to the good people of Stratford-upon-Avon for Shakespeare’s birthday celebrations. However, high profile and bling don’t concern us anywhere near as much as knowing our clients and guests are enjoying themselves.
