Clemmie was born in Berkshire and began learning the Oboe at the age of 7. She attended her local music centre (The Berkshire Maestros), and quickly became principle oboe in many of the local ensembles, including the Berkshire County Youth Orchestra. In 2011, she was awarded a TCL (Trinity College Laureate) scholarship to study Oboe on the undergraduate course at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. Clemmie has graduated from TrinityLaban with great success. Whilst studying at Trinity Laban, Clemmie performed in many master classes with Alison Teale, David Theodore and Gordon Hunt to name a few. She has also taken part in many competitions, including the Evelyn Rothwell Oboe competition where she received a highly commended award. As a performer, Clemmie is very flexible and performs extensively with orchestras, wind ensembles, chamber groups and performed with almost all of Trinity Laban’s resident orchestras, including the prestigious honor of playing with the Trinity Laban Symphony Orchestra for the opening of the Cutty Sark in front of the Queen. As well as playing alongside John Anderson, one of the UK’s best-recognized oboists, in the Trinity Laban Side by Side Symphony Orchestra project. Outside of Trinity Laban Clemmie has played in venues including the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Southbank Centre with Edward Fox, Drapers’ Hall and The Royal Albert Hall.
