About Chloe

Chloe is a young, talented, London-born cellist currently based in Scotland.
Cellist
Aberdeen

Growing up just outside of London allowed Chloe to take full advantage of the abundance of musical opportunities available in the city. She has studied under Nadia Alzapiedi since she was three years old, and has amassed a wealth of orchestral and chamber music experience over the years. As a member of Redbridge Music School’s symphony orchestra she has undertaken tours to Germany in 2011 and 2014, and Wales in 2010, 2012 and 2015, a master class with international soloist Raphael Wallfisch, and has performed twice as part of the Redbridge Choral Festival at London’s esteemed Royal Albert Hall. Chloe has taken part in projects with members of both the London Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra. In 2015 she performed in a chamber music master class led by Ru Pei Yeh, a cellist of the New York Philharmonic, as part of both a quartet and an octet. She has recently completed her studies at the University of Aberdeen, and has continued her cello studies under Aline Gow of the Scottish Opera since 2016, and James Halsey at NESMS since 2018. She was the co-principal of the university’s symphony orchestra and the principal cellist for the Marischal chamber orchestra, with whom she enjoyed a successful tour to Prague in 2018. She was also a member of the Universities of Scotland Symphony Orchestra for their 2017 performance of Shostakovich’s 5th symphony. Chloe is a highly skilled pit musician. She has played for two successful runs of American Idiot, and a production of Les Misérables nominated for best musical at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and a production of Spring Awakening in summer 2019 that allowed her to make use of vocal and acting skills too. She has played for a number of productions, including Dogfight and Ghost.
