Billy Rowlatt

I am a versatile trumpet player based in London, UK. Originally from Derbyshire, I moved to London in 2019 to study Jazz Trumpet at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, aided by the Trinity College London scholarship. Since then, I have performed in some of the most renowned jazz venues in the country such as London's 606, Vortex and Spice of Life and Leeds's Seven Arts with revered players such as Tony Kofi, Roberto Pla and many guest collaborators with the Trinity Laban big bands. In 2021 I joined exciting 11-piece Afro-Pop outfit “The Amalgam” and in summer 2023 I will record a debut EP of original music with my quintet. I have played countless events with cover and function bands around London and in the East Midlands where I grew up, so am well versed in Funk, Soul, Ska, Pop classics and much more. On the jazz scene I am experienced as a bandleader and sideman in small groups and am a reliable section player in Big Bands.
