About Andy&LauraDuo

Cool Soul/Pop Duo Performing Laid Back Classic Songs That Everybody Loves! Hampshire/UK Based and Happy To Travel!
Pop duo
Portsmouth
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Laura Day (vocals) and Andy Morris (guitar) perform cool and classic Soul and Pop in their own unique style! The married couple are both experienced professional musicians and have performed at many prestigious venues across the UK, including The V&A Museum, The Ritz Hotel, Pizza Express Soho Jazz Club, various National Trust venues and hundreds of weddings and private functions. The talented pair met studying music at Chichester College back in 2002 and the rest, as they say, is history! 'For one of our first ever professional bookings we were asked to travel from Portsmouth to Jersey for a Weekend-Long Wedding! We packed up our instruments and equipment and hopped on the ferry. We have always had the philosophy that we are happy to travel - the client had booked us as they were looking for a duo that could read the room and know what songs to play and when - all whilst keeping things at the appropriatte volume, of course! We performed a couple of Romantic sets for the reception and then in the evening we let more of the contemportary classics fly during the sit down meal. We loved every minute of the weekend and have never looked back as gigging musicians! We think the ingredients of such a succesful and varied career is knowing how important it is to treat each and every booking with a bespoke approach. No event is ever the same! We can be playing centre stage with all eyes on us and you could hear a pin drop, and the next day providing some tasteful background atmosphere whilst blending into a drinks reception. We work closely with our clients to cater set lists to their event and learn requests to help create the perfect atmosphere. Live music is that extra special addition that brings people together, whether it's in the background or centre stage, it makes such a difference!' Following many years experience of performing around the UK, in 2019 - 2020 the duo set sail with luxury cruise line Princess Cruises as Guest Musicians on various voyages around Australia/Latin America and the Carribean. 'Working on the cruise ships helped us extend our repertoire and take requests. We performed every night for 3 hours and our locations were as varied as ever - from playing the hits in the 'Pub' venue to hosting Ballroom Dancing evenings in the 'Lounge'. We also developed a range of themed sets which we can now offer to clients on request - such as 'Hits from The Beatles', 'Movie Magic', 'Motown and Soul Hits' and 'Classic Jazz'. We are always more than happy to dress up for black tie events or dress smart casual for more laid back bookings - just let us know the theme and we'll make sure we fit in with your guests/venue' The duo are able to add additional members on Sax, Double Bass and Drums if required – perfect if you're looking after something extra special for your event! They are based along the South Coast of the UK and are always happy to spread the joy of live music far and wide across the UK.

The Duo are exceptional and delightful in every way. Their performance is warming and created a wonderful atmosphere for our private party at home. Laura and Andy certainly performed over and above our expectations to make our friends feel special with their wonderful collection. I highly recommend them and will most definitely re book to see and hear them again.
