London

Originally from Surrey, Amy began her musical journey with the Surrey Youth Choir, with whom she toured around Europe and the USA, eventually receiving a prize for her long-standing involvement with the group. While still at school, Amy joined the Royal College of Music Junior Department as one of its first singing students. Amy joined York University to study Music with John Potter, Roger Marsh and others. While studying, she appeared as Zerlina (Don Giovanni, York Opera), Tiny (Paul Bunyan, York University) and sang in more than a few world premières for the Chimera New Music Ensemble. She also won a number of prizes in the York Competitive Festival of Singing in 2008. Since leaving university, Amy has been appearing in London and around the home counties in opera and concert for ensembles such as Surrey Opera, Fulham Festival Orchestra and The Barn Theatre, Welwyn. She was awarded the title of 'Most Promising Young Singer' in the 2011 Woking Music Festival after winning all of her classes, and the Summer School Bursary Prize. Amy is currently studying on the MMus course at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with Wendy Eathorne, and is coached by Helen Yorke. She is thrilled to have been Highly Commended by Mark Wildman at the Roy Pleasance Award for Singers at Trinity Laban this year for her performance of Zerbinetta's Monologue.
