About Amy

Versatile professional pianist available for all events

Public liability insurance of £10 million

Amy is a freelance pianist and accompanist, performing a wide range of music from classical to pop, jazz standards, musicals and film music. She has performed at some of the north-east's finest cathedrals including Wakefield Cathedral, Ripon Cathedral and Southwell Minster and has played for many weddings and functions at venues such as Carlton Towers, Cave Castle Hotel & Country Club, Poppleton Tithe Barn and Glemham Hall. She also regularly plays for christenings, funerals, birthday parties, fundraisers and corporate functions. In addition to weddings and events, Amy frequently accompanies other musicians for Associated Board and Trinity music exams, A Level recitals, concerts and music festivals, working in connection with local schools and music centres. And as a pianist for the music charities Music in Hospitals and Lost Chord, she also enjoys sharing the joy of live music with people in care environments. Amy is also the regular accompanist for the Beverley Male Voice Choir and has travelled on tour with them. Amy began learning the piano at the age of 5. She quickly progressed through the grades and an early highlight was when, at the age of 14, she was awarded the highest mark in the UK in her Grade 8 piano exam. This was followed by the award for outstanding junior piano competitor at Hull Music Festival and achievement of the ABRSM Diploma in Piano Performance. Amy then studied privately with one of Britain's most distinguished concert pianists, Martin Roscoe. In 2009 Amy graduated with a first class degree from Oxford University. While at university she was lucky enough to be involved in rehearsal and performance every week, working with instrumentalists and singers in productions ranging from Les Miserables to Faure's Requiem.

I was there this afternoon visiting my auntie when you did the concert. When that lady got up out of her chair to dance to In The Mood - it brought tears to my eyes - what a beautiful moment. She looked so happy. I know the residents really enjoyed the afternoon. Thank you so much.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs smoothly. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event, just let me know.

How much time do you need to set up?

Usually 30 minutes.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Of course - as long as it is in working order and in tune, I will be happy to play it!

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

Yes. I can bring my top of the range Yamaha digital stage piano and PA system which sounds as good as (if not better than!) most acoustic pianos.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Yes - please get in touch. Only a small sample of my repertoire is listed here, so I may well already know it! If not, I will be happy to learn the song for you as long as you can give me at least 4 weeks' notice. Depending on the occasion, there may be a small fee of £10 per new song to cover my time sourcing and rehearsing the music.
