Amersham Band Our Championship level band is currently one of the most successful brass bands in the region, under the musical direction of Paul Fisher. In 2020, the band was promoted to the Championship Section of the National Brass Band Championships, where it competes alongside some of the finest bands in the country. The band has a busy calendar of local concerts, and it supports several civic events, including Memorial Gardens Concerts, Heritage Day, Remembrance Sunday and Christmas events. In addition the band travels more widely, for example to take part in the annual Whit Friday March contest at Saddleworth, other national contests, and also regular trips to Amersham’s twin town Bensheim in Germany. The band has a widely varied repertoire which includes arrangements of popular orchestral classics, film music, jazz and popular selections, and of course, brass band standards. Amersham Band have appeared in movies and tv adverts and regular put on concerts with some of the UK's leading artists. Our styles can be traditional, pop, movies, Street Band, West End, BierKeller and beyond! We can provide music groups varying in styles, from 2 trumpeters for wedding fanfares, to a full brass band of 30 members.

Do you have different line-up options?

Our line up can absolutely be changed, depending on your requirements. We can provide from 4-30 musicians with varying types of line up. You could book a trumpeter for your wedding service, a street band with 4-12 members or a full on traditional brass band.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We'll certainly try to be as flexible as we can be to ensure your event runs smoothly.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We can certainly offer some background music between sets.

How much time do you need to set up?

It depends on which line up you have booked. If it's a 4 piece band, then set up is minimal but the full 30 piece band would be a minimum 30 minute set up.

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes - It's certainly possible for our Street Band to roam around if you'd like us to do an acoustic roaming set.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Our set lists are prepared to ensure your guests have the best possible time. If you have specific requests we'd be more than happy to chat through them with you.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

We don't tend to bring a PA along with us as the sound of the Street Band is already pretty loud. By all means tell us your requirements and we can see what's possible

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We can certainly try our best to accommodate a request, but it would probably come at a slightly extra cost as we'd have to pay somebody to arrange and then we'd have to get together for rehearsal time too.

Was blown away by your gig last night. Brass and winds at its musical best. Plus of course percussion, piano, string bass. Such variety. Especially the moody Chinatown. The whole Amersham Band set up is a wonderful thing to behold in an arts sector under the cosh. Paul Fisher continues an unbelievable job steering this outfit. Start to finish, even leading the way stacking chairs after. Extraordinary!
