Alyse Faith

Australian flautist Alyse Faith is an experienced soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician currently based in London. Alyse was born in Canberra, Australia in 1995. She began flute lessons at the age of 8 with her teacher Allyne Brislan who taught her for eleven years (2003-2013) at the Central Coast Conservatorium of Music in NSW. In 2012, Alyse earned the Associate in Music Diploma, Australia, in flute with Distinction (AMusA). In 2017, Alyse graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Honours), specialising in flute performance, having studied with Mardi McSullea and Margaret Crawford (flute) and Andrew MacLeod (piccolo) at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (MCM). Alyse was selected through audition to perform in the University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra of the MCM in 2014-18 and has played principal flute with the orchestra on multiple occasions. In 2017, Alyse performed internationally as principal flute on tour in China with the orchestra of the Australian International Opera Company. In 2018, Alyse was selected for the Australian Youth Orchestra National Music Camp. Alyse enjoys playing chamber music, currently in a flute and guitar duet; Alyse and Clancy and has also performed in a wind quintet, a flute, viola and harp trio and a flute, cello and piano trio in Melbourne. Alyse is currently undertaking a Master of Arts in Performance degree at the Royal Academy of Music in London, UK, under renowned teachers William Bennett (flute) and Patricia Morris (piccolo). Her studies at the Academy are generously supported by the Bouddi Foundation for the Arts and The Ian Potter Cultural Trust. Alyse performs with both the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchesra and the University of London Symphony Orchestra. She has played in masterclasses for artists such as Emily Beynon, Emmanuel Pahud, Paul Edmund-Davies, Theis Roorda, Lorna McGhee, William Bennett and Michael Cox.
