Studying BMus performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. DipABRSM pianist and keen accompanist.
Originally from East Yorkshire, Alex began piano lessons aged 11 and gained Grade 8 with distinction within six years. In 2012 she passed the DipABRSM examination in solo piano performance. She is currently under the tutelage of Victor Sangiorgio in her third year of undergraduate studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. Previously Alex was awarded first prizes in the Hull Musical Festival’s piano classes in 2012 and 2013. She has performed in venues around the world, and was privileged to experience working as a demonstrator and performer to the public at Finchcocks Musical Museum before it recently closed. Alex is a keen accompanist and chamber musician, and has freelanced recently with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Chorus and Junior Chorus. Earlier this year herself and duo partner, violist Edward Keenan, were highly commended in the Louis Carus Duo Ensemble Prize (awarded at the RCS). Whilst studying at the RCS, Alex has played in multiple events, including the Piano Festival and PLUG (premiering new compositions). In the past she was the official accompanist for the Maureen Hunter Junior Singers and Dagger Lane Singers in East Yorkshire. Other ensembles Alex has been engaged with include Glasgow Lieder Club, Mackintosh Choir and the Strathendrick Singers.
