Saxophonist
London
Public liability insurance of £10 million

Performing at notable venues such as the Barbican Music Hall, Park Chinois Mayfair, Etihad Stadium Manchester and O2 Forum Kentish Town, Alex is an experienced and skilled young saxophonist based in London. Having studied at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama under the tuition of internationally renown musicians Jean-Toussaint (Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers), Jim Knight (Kyle Minogue, Paloma Faith) and Martin Hathaway (RadioHead), he now continues his career playing with The Full Tilt Collective, JORO Afrobeat, Das Brass and fronting his own original Jazz-Fusion project, ECHIDNA. Notable examples of Alex's experience in composition and arranging can be found in his writing for the JMNI Horns, the 'Stand Up' by Full Tilt for their EP 'Out Of Line' and his orchestration of Radiohead's 'Everything in Its Right Place' for a 21-piece big band. Meanwhile, his playing experience and versatility has been gained through regularly playing throughout London's music scene at a wide variety of venues. Stages have ranged from playing Brixton sound-systems with the Hip-Hop collective And What?; to playing the 2019 and 2020 New Year's Eve parties at Park Chinois in Mayfair, where he has maintained a weekly Jazz and Dance Club residency for over 2 years.

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

If timings change slightly in the run up to the event, just send an email to [email protected] (ideally a week beforehand) and I will be happy to accommodate any adjustments that are possible.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Playlists can be made to play in between, before and after sets, keeping the party going for the whole event! These can also be tailored to your tastes.

How much time do you need to set up?

Set up time depends on parking and access to equipment such as PAs. The usual set up time is between 45 minutes to 1 hour and will be completed with plenty of time before the set.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Absolutely, the set lists are crafted from countless performances and learning what works best to ensure guests dance and have an amazing time. However, any requests are completely welcome.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes, absolutely everything will be provided (including PAT tested amplification and public liability insurance etc.). The only thing I require is a mains power supply if you want an amplified set.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Song requests are always welcome, however, backing tracks may need to be sourced/created in advance so plenty of notice is needed!

We wanted to email you to say what an amazing time we had at our wedding, you were all incredible and everybody absolutely loved your music. Thanks so much for everything, we had the best day ever and it was really special having you guys playing. A personal highlight for me Zombie, and of course, Man With the Red Face - we have some brilliant videos of that song and it was something that I will never forget! Thanks so much for learning that and Bill Withers' Lovely Day too - we could tell you guys had put a lot of practice into it.
