About Adam

Composer
Cambridge
Cambridge-based composer and arranger

Adam Greenwood-Byrne began his music career as a pianist and keyboardist. Highlights include supporting The Steve Miller Band with his own original material band, and playing session piano on Katie Buckhaven‘s eponymous debut album, released on Hot Records. He now plays classical cello, having studied for almost 8 years under Eugenie Degan, and is an Executive Board Member of the London Cello Society. He sings regularly with the a cappella chamber choir Coro 94 under the direction of Michael Kibblewhite and actively supports the Cambridge Music Festival. Adam began to write music from a very early age, but only in latter years availed himself of the skills required to transcribe his ideas eloquently. He is open-minded in his listening tastes and believes that inspiration comes from the most unexpected of places at the most unexpected of times.

I think the album is going to be lovely. I have to say, the first round of edits were exhausting and emotionally draining – not because I had to work hard to make things sound good, but because I found myself so utterly entranced by so much of what I was listening to. There are moments of astonishing magic and I was so determined to make sure these were all present on the album.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed an evening in Great Munden listening to Coro 94. It’s wonderful to listen to a choir and hear the voices blend together to complement one another. An enjoyable and inspiring evening created by very talented people.
