Adam is currently in his third year of study at the Royal Northern College of Music, under the tutelage of Gareth Small and John Dickinson. He plays in a large variety of ensembles, ranging from orchestras to funk bands and enjoys the diverse styles of performance that they entail. Since beginning his playing at the age of nine, Adam was a part of a training brass band where he gained a valuable introduction to ensemble playing and technique, and was then awarded a scholarship to his local music service where he was able to build experience in an orchestral environment. This led to Adam’s participation in the Buckinghamshire County Youth Orchestra and the English Schools’ Orchestra courses, as well as experience with local amateur orchestras. Whilst at the RNCM, Adam has performed with the Wind Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Collective. In addition to orchestral experience, Adam has played with big bands and jazz ensembles since school, and has been a part of several projects since starting at the RNCM, such as funk band White Sugar and fusion group Tuba Slap, adding to his range of performance experience. Adam has also been a part of several chamber music groups, ranging from brass quintet Crown Brass to a mixed instrumentation group, the Aether Quintet, where he has had the fortune to play for distinguished musicians such as Rob Buckland, Jiggs Wigham, Petr Praus and John Miller.
