Finnish violinist Abel Puustinen is known as an interesting solo violinist, passionate chamber musician and ambitious orchestra player, giving concerts troughout Europe and Asia. He is a winner of the Finnish Janne- soloist competition 2015, named after composer Jean Sibelius and supported by conductor Jukka-Pekka Saraste. The first sparks of loving the classical music and violin playing were given by prof. Geza Szilvay and violinist Lauri Untamala. Recently Puustinen has studied at the Sibelius Academy with violinist Antti Tikkanen, the 1st violinist of the world famous string quartet Meta4 and Laura Vikman, 2nd violin section leader of the Finnish Radio Orchestra. At the moment Puustinen's personal guide to find the right and the most beatiful path of violismn is prof. Jan Repko at the Royal College of Music in London. Puustinen has taken part to many master classes, getting great lessons from violinists such as Hagai Shaham, Mi-Kyung Lee and Mihaela Martin. In addition to master classes, Puustinen has been one of the chosen students to study in the Finnish Violin Academy sponsored by the Finnish Cultural Foundation. Faculty includes violinist such as Elina Vähälä, Janne Malmivaara, Ilya Grubert and Ana Chumaschenco. Chamber music is very important to Puustinen. With his piano trio he has been giving various concerts in Finland, France and Japan. Cellist Marko Ylönen and pianist/conductor Ralf Gothoni have been guiding the trio to its right track during the years. Puustinen has played as a soloist with The Helsinki Strings, Jean Sibelius Orchestra, The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra. Puustinen is a RCM Scholar supported by a Soirée d'Or Award. Also The Finnish Cultural Foundation, Kordelin Foundation and Pro Musica Foundation have been supporting Puustinen's career. Puustinen plays on a Jean Baptiste Vuillaume, kindly provided by Fortum Power and Heat.
